Arthur Irawan, who was in the starting 11, helped his team to achieve the comeback.

Espanyol B played last Thursday in a friendly match against Shanghai East Asia FC, from China. The Chinese team, which plays in first division, visited the Dani Jarque training facilities, to play against Espanyol’s reserve team.

The Catalan coach selected Arthur Irawan to be part of the initial team that would take on Shanghai East FC.

Shanghai East Asia scored twice during the first minutes of the game. Then it was time for Espanyol to show their ability to recover mentally and make an exciting fightback In the final minutes of the first half, the first “Perico” goal arrived, leaving a 1-2 score at half time.

During the second half Espanyol came out and created many chances against Shanghai whilst also dominating the game. Their persistence paid off and Espanyol converted two of the many chances that were created to finally lead and win the contest 3-2.

After the game, Arthur Irawan made the following statements: "This game has helped us to realize that the way European teams play is very different from the way football is practiced in other continents. Here, and especially in Spain, the team’s organization is highly valued and we always try to have the ball under control.”
